The Love Hoole Reward Scheme – IMPORTANT UPDATE

Dear Love Hoole Trader Member,

We would like to say a big thank you for your cooperation and commitment over the last 12 months which has made the Love Hoole loyalty and rewards scheme a great success. Hopefully you saw the donation to Claire House for £520 featured in the Chronicle 18th Jan. Well done Love Hoole!

Throughout the scheme we have received very positive feedback from both Love Hoole traders and our cardholders, which has been extremely encouraging. The trial period of the Love Hoole scheme was due to expire on 1st of October but we did not want this to potentially interrupt Christmas trading so as you are no doubt aware we have extended this until now. The new closing date is Friday 9th February 2018.

We are writing to inform all traders about the next steps and our new and exciting improvements to the Love Hoole loyalty scheme.

What we have achieved to date?

  • Invested in marketing the scheme through local posters, newspaper, local trade magazines and radio adverts. We plan to do much more of this throughout 2018.
  • Created over 2,000 Love Hoole card holders and in November we surveyed them to gain feedback on the current loyalty system which resulted in…
  • 95% of respondents agreeing that a community scheme was a good idea.
  • Over 50% of respondents say they are now spending more in Hoole as a result.
  • Sent fortnightly cardholder email bulletins, for you and your local traders to send offers, news and promotions which reach out to your current customers and the cardholders who are not yet your customers.

In addition to this, all traders now have access to our portal to send ad hoc direct marketing messages by email, app notification and tablet messages to anyone who has purchased from them. This is a free service for one message per customer, per month and is compliant with the new GDPR Government legislation.

In 2017 we also launched the Love Hoole app and have recently improved it with some great new features. One being a dynamic map which displays all participating trader venues with marketing space to promote your business. This enables your business to be visible to all card holders as they use the app to navigate local traders.

 So, what’s new for 2018?

An issue which has been highlighted by some busy bar and café customers and is a moving trend within loyalty schemes nationally and globally is the time loyalty cards can add to the transaction. we have reviewed this feedback and discovered a solution. It’s called Credit Card Linking!

The Love Hoole Loyalty scheme will be the first community of independent traders in the UK to have this facility. Our Credit Card linking loyalty system invites customers to register their Mastercard, Visa Credit and/or Debit Cards to our app and from then on, they simply receive their points from participating loyalty scheme venues each time they pay on their registered bank cards. This system does not require traders to enter the purchase value into the tablet or take loyalty cards on purchase. The system also works with contactless Android and Apple pay. Finally, and conveniently, your customers can review and redeem their points via the Love Hoole app or on as before.

Where’s the catch?

Given our free trial will now end on Friday 9th February we do need to move towards a paid for service going forward. Our planned payment structure nationally will be a £99 setup fee with ongoing fees of £20 a month and a 10p per transaction fee, for all transactions made by registered card users with your business.

Here’s the good news…

For Love Hoole traders the setup fee and the per transaction charge will be completely free for the remainder of 2018!

We already have new venues waiting to join up and plan to expand the scheme from the current trial group, making it available to all CH2 businesses.

We have also created a “lite” version of the product which means those businesses with cash transactions can still be part of the scheme by simply entering the cash transaction via their own phone, laptop, PC or MAC wherever they are working.

As you are aware, your customers can opt to donate their points to charity. All 2018 donated points will be paid for by Loyalty Pro. We have just recently donated to the Community Centre as well Claire House. We hope this new scheme will produce even more fantastic local donations to what we all know are amazing causes. We plan to market the scheme nationally under the name ‘Clinkpoints’. Hoole will be the centre point case study for the national PR campaign scheduled for quarter 2 of 2018. This will be great publicity for the area! To see more, check out the video on

This new scheme is designed to help you, the trader, to continue to provide a high quality local service to your local customers and visitors by giving you a more efficient way to offer loyalty and compete with the bigger traders and online giants. Your Fees from 10th Feb 2018 – 31st December 2018

Due to the subsidy we are offering you and other Hoole traders, you will pay less than £5 a week for all of this including a tablet on your counter, or less than £2.50 a week if you are a “lite” user.
