THE ‘CH’ COMMUNITY APP AND WEB DIRECTORY LAUNCHED TO HELP LOCAL BUSINESSES THROUGH THE COVID-19 CRISIS AND BEYOND.
Local Chester based technology company Loyalty Pro has joined forces with Chester & Cheshire lifestyle guide We Love Good Times Ltd to provide a state-of-the-art technology solution to support local businesses, agencies and support organisations through the Covid-19 crisis and into the recovery period.
Rob Meakin and Izzy Grey, both MD’s of their respective organisations had been working on various other projects using this community-based technology for the past 6 months and have now offered it to the city for the duration of the crisis and beyond – free of charge.
This technology consists of a web portal directory, and a state-of-the-art mobile app, which can be downloaded by every resident free of charge in Chester and surrounding areas, gives a free listing to all local businesses (plus foodbanks, tourist attractions and all other support organisations) with a CH postcode. Those businesses can then manage their listing themselves via an easy-to-use online portal, in real time. As the situation changes for all businesses, CH residents can keep up to date with the services offered by all local businesses in their community, at any time.
This idea of supporting local businesses, by making it easier for local customers to connect with them during the crisis, has the support of local councillor Richard Beacham who represents the Newton and Hoole Ward and Chester’s MP Chris Matheson
Izzy Grey said ‘Our objective is to provide one central, easy to use platform giving an up to date status of every business in and around Chester – and possibly further afield if its needed. The Chester Community app will provide one point of reference for all businesses, organisations and support services to connect directly with the public providing live, accurate information at any time. It’s very generous of my colleague Rob Meakin to be offering the city this state-of-the-art technology free of charge, now and when the crisis has passed.’
The app and web directory use traffic light colours to show business statuses on a map and listings. Green is open as usual, amber is offering some services (details of which are then shown separately), Red means closed until further notice.
In addition, the system shows if businesses are offering pay-it-forward-chester gift vouchers, and other current offers, plus a link to each businesses web site.
